DON'T LET GO

Recent video works (INFINIVIDS) explore the ambivalent nature of our experience of reality. They allow the viewer to reflect on what is being seen in the moment. Moving image, without an explicit narrative, as ‘loop’. The ‘loop’ is infinite, enabling one to come and go, to look and leave, to encounter sameness and difference. Essentially the pieces are about looking and giving the time to look. The often barely perceptible motion within the videos serves to highlight our sense of urgency to move on to the next without really acknowledging what we have just witnessed and the fact that they are in the main, silent movies contributes to a contemplative space. The infinivids exist in a timeframe but play forever! They are drawings in time, drawings in the present continuous, drawings which can be viewed in entirety or not…
